Tubes were incubated at 25°C for 10 min followed by addition of 0.6 mL of 20% sodium carbonate. Tubes were then incubated in a water bath at 40°C for 20 min, cooled for 30 min to 25°C, and analyzed at 755 nm with purified gallic acid serving as the external standard.
