Whole grains are an ancient food that has been eaten for more than 12,000 years. It is estimated that whole grains like wheat and rice nourish about one third of the worlds population. The fact is only 1% of the general population is allergic to gluten and usually those that are allergic suffer from celiac disease who are sensitive to gluten. So 99% of yous can go on and continue eating whole grains and you dont have to worry that its bad for your health.

It is evident that your gut microbes play a significant role in determining which foods are healthy for you. Each persons gut bacteria respond differently to different foods. Therefore, the best path to a healthy diet is identifying the nutrient-dense foods that go well with your gut bacteria and including them in your diet to maintain healthy blood sugar levels, gut health, and overall well-being.

Choose regular sugar or regular corn syrup they are chemically different and do not have the problem of increasing the production of purines as does HFCS.

Additionally, rapid weight loss through strict dieting can result in breakdown of tissue. This can temporarily cause a rise in uric acid levels. A gradual, safe weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week can help to achieve an optimal body weight.

    I recently started baking with fresh ground whole wheat flour that I grind myself and bakers active yeast. After my husbands gout flared badly in his ankle, research showed that bakers and brewers yeast are the worst for gout! I was thinking sourdough may be the answer but it also produces yeast, even though it is not the same yeast as Bakers.
